On Friday, April 20th, ArtWorks for Milwaukee hosted an event during Milwaukee's Gallery Night.  Guest enjoyed an evening of artwork, food, drinks and live music.  Over 200 people attended this event which celebrated the combined works of both Spring programs.
Interns from "The Positive Influence Project" displayed their mixed media portraits. These portraits honor an individual from the Intern's neighborhood who makes a positive contribution to the community. Throughout the night, Intern's interacted with the guests by explaining what their work means to them and how their positive influencer inspired their work of art.

Interns from the "Safe Messages Program" proudly debuted their anti-crime/violence posters that were created during their 8 week program. The Interns worked as a team to brainstorm ideas, design various images and write slogans that would resonate with the youth in their community. The resulting posters were displayed and were available for purchase.

Original artworks created by our Interns were available for purchase along with ArtWorks for Milwaukee merchandise and reproductions of artwork created in past programs. Tickets were sold for raffle drawing during the evening. Winners of the raffle enjoyed baskets filled with a variety of items including one with tickets to a Milwaukee Brewer game.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors, donors and program partners for making Gallery Night a success:
