Board of Directors: Karin Gratz

Karin Gratz, Board President

Karin Gratz became the Board President in January 2009, and has been a board member since November, 2007. After over eleven years as a school counselor at Pius XI High School and seven years developing pre-college programs for UW-Milwaukee, Karin created CommUNITY Connections Consulting.  Her mission is to create programs that allow students to develop leadership skills, unlock their potential and learn they can make a difference in the community.

Her signature program, Lead to Succeed, gives high school students the opportunity to develop and execute a service-learning project for a local non-profit organization.  They are guided by team mentors, students from a collaborating college or university, and are supported through a semester-long leadership development curriculum.

In addition to her involvement with ArtWorks for Milwaukee, Karin serves on the Creative Council for FUEL Milwaukee and the Time Warner Cable Teacher Advisory Board.  She also volunteers on committees for the United Performing Arts Fund, Milwaukee Public Theater and the Alma Center.

Karin received her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She resides in Milwaukee with her sons, Zack and Zander.
