On Friday, April 19, 150 people braved un-spring-like weather to support Artworks' interns as part of Milwaukee's Gallery Night events across the city.
Interns from the "I See You" program proudly debuted their "Fears and Dreams" mural. Throughout the evening, the interns (Lisa Agnew, Dominic Cooper, Alontea Crittenden, Monique Holloway, Jonah Hughley, Lillian Lott, Yue Pheng Vang, and Daijah West) engaged an enthusiastic crowd as they talked about creating a collaborative mural reflecting their deepest fears and their biggest dreams. Dominic showed off his impressive rapping skills with a rap he wrote especially about his ArtWorks experience, even managing to include references to Manpower's career coaching and to a few of the 21st century skills he learned.
Thanks to the support of the evening's sponsors/donors and everyone who bought raffle tickets and purchased artwork, the event raised over $2,000 for ArtWorks to continue to offer internships for Milwaukee high school students.
