Thank you to the more than 300 people who attended ArtWorks’ 4th annual Night by the River event! Attendees sampled food and beverages from local establishments, purchased intern art and raffle tickets, participated in the cork pull, and bid on silent and live auction items. Because of all the attendees and our generous corporate and tasting sponsors and auction donors, we raised enough money from the event to fund an entire eight-week internship program in 2013.
Night by the River attendees were able to see and hear for themselves the impact ArtWorks’ internship programs have had on local teens. Seventeen interns from the fall internship program showcased the work they created in the two fall programs “Keep the Peace” and “Peace of Art.” The programs, which were funded by Safe & Sound and the Jerome and Dorothy Holz Foundation, allowed the local teens to express their ideas of peace and crime prevention through a mural and an art installation.
