Here's what Kenneth & Anthony, interns in the Wearable Words fall program, had to say:
"When we first started ArtWorks, we played a game called Meet & Greet, when all the Interns went in a circle talking about themselves. Then after that, we met each other we then played an Icebreaker called The Human Knot. Each intern grabbed another intern’s hand and we tried to untie the huge knot. Afterwards, we talked about 21st Century Skills and how it can help us in the career world. Next, we did another game called Exquisite Corpse Drawing, where we drew pictures of a different body part on our pictures to make something really crazy creative.
The next day we did a partner project where we marbleized paper into some really cool pictures. Once the paper dried, we created journals with the marbleized paper which was fun.
For the last day of the week, we started off by touring the MIAD building, to find and learn about different drawing styles. We started an Illustrated Writing project, where we combined pictures with words to create art about relationships. We finished the day with the Artist of the Week; that’s when one of the Interns talks about or shows their previous work or shares a poem with the group."
