Interns will create a collaborative art piece, celebrating the efforts and success of community members working towards a safe and sound city, one household at a time. Interns will take on the role of collaborative community artists, using social media, blogs, and other outreach methods to seek participation from residents. Together, interns will use printmaking, mixed media and transfer processes to illustrate the vibrancy of communities working together for a brighter future. Celebrating Communities that Care is hosted on the campus of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) and started June 17th.
ArtWorks for Milwaukee is happy to welcome a new Lead Artist, Brittany Renee Miller, for the Celebrating Communities that Care program. Brittany is a graduate of Alverno College and MIAD and has worked in a variety of Milwaukee art venues including the Wisconsin Early Autism Project and Downtown Montessori Academy.
