What ArtWorks Expects of You - Lead Artists
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in US
- Complete a W9 Form for tax reporting requirements
- Pass a criminal background check
2. Apprentice interviews:
- All Apprentice interviews will be scheduled by the Executive Director and conducted by the Lead Artist.
- ArtWorks offices may be used as the interview location.
- Apprentice candidates will be impartially evaluated by Lead Artists for their ability to successfully complete the hiring process; not for their artistic ability.
- Final Apprentice selections will be made in conjunction with the Executive Director, before the pre-determined deadline.
3. Participation in Fundamentals Day: All selected Lead Artists will be expected to:
- Write & distribute a program description/syllabus that details goals to be met each week of the duration of the program.
- Become familiar with required Apprentice paperwork & provide assistance in getting all Apprentice paperwork completed.
4. Submittal of Apprentice Time Sheets: All selected Lead Artists will receive a payroll schedule. They will check each Apprentice’s time sheet for accuracy, and submit the payroll information to the Executive Director by the pre-determined deadline.
5. Communication with Apprentices: Lead Artists are expected to engage in ongoing and clear communication with all Apprentices about:
- Current & upcoming tasks.
- Expectations for work performed
- Recognition for jobs well done & Action taken for unacceptable behavior
- Feedback given as part of the Apprentice Performance Evaluation process, completed at the mid-point and completion of each program.
6. Letters of Recommendation: Based upon the successful completion of each program and the level of the Apprentice’s performance, Lead Artists are expected to write letters of recommendation for each Apprentice's portfolio.
