During our program year, our 2024 CAPE interns embarked on a transformative journey through the 'Holding Space' training, an 'Alternatives to Suicide' approach, developed by the Wildflower Alliance in 2008. This innovative training provides vital tools for open, honest conversations about suicide, a topic that touches many yet often remains concealed in silence.
Moved by their profound learning experiences, our interns channeled their insights and emotions into creating reflective visual art. These artworks poignantly capture the personal impact of their training, illustrating not just a deep understanding, but a powerful, visual dialogue about their journeys with mental health.
Through these artistic expressions, our interns not only shed light on their own experiences but also encourage conversations that can break the stigma associated with discussing suicide. Their work exemplifies how creativity can be a healing force, fostering a community where empathy and understanding thrive.
Feel free to watch and share the video to learn more about their experiences.
